Carborundum Collagraph with a side of Monotype, Fallbrook School of the Arts
August 16th through August 19th, 10:00-4:30, $275
Learn two complementary printmaking techniques in one exciting workshop! Students will learn both collagraph and monotype techniques. Collagraphs are prints created from a plate that has a pattern collaged onto it creating a relief surface. In this workshop, students will use carborundum to create the texture on the surface and then will pull a print after ink has been applied to the plate. In combination with the collagraphs, students will learn the monotype technique, a spontaneous and experimental printmaking technique. We'll be able to combine the two techniques for endless creative opportunities!
Most materials will be provided for the workshop including 10 sheets of 22x30 printmaking paper. Here's a list of items you will need to bring: apron, notebook, pad of 11x17 newsprint, roll of paper towels, filbert paint brushed, water containers, package of baby wipes and a portfolio to transport prints.
